The Builders Association of Greater
Indianapolis Green Building Committee
was created in recognition of the impact
that home building has on the
environment. From this committee, Indy
Green Build was created.
Indy Green Build will use the National
Association of Home Builders (NAHB)
Model Green Home Guidelines as a
means to certify individual projects.
The Guidelines serve as a point system,
with various graduated levels of green,
which requires 3rd party
verification. It is important to note
that individual homes,
not builders, are certified.
Indy
Green Build was created with the
understanding that a voluntary Green
Building program promotes
high-performance housing, by
incorporating environmental
considerations into every phase of the
home building process.
